Lithuania contributes to humanitarian efforts of Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and UNHCR

In support of the joint efforts of the international community to fight the COVID-19 and to support refugees as one of the most vulnerable groups of the society, Lithuania has allocated funds to humanitarian aid.
Lithuania has heeded the joint appeal of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and designated 100 thousand euros for the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) humanitarian response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Lithuanian Government has also allocated 50 thousand euros to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in order to help refugees. This contribution was announced during the UNHCR pledging conference in December last year.
