LITHUANIA CONGRATULATES LATVIA ON THE OCCASION OF THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS INDEPENDENCE

On 18 November, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Petras Vaitiekūnas addressed a letter of congratulation to Latvian Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Latvia’s Independence proclamation.
P.Vaitiekūnas emphasized that in their fight for the Independence during the complicated period of changes, our countries acted courageously and decisively, supported each other, were an example of solidarity for the whole world world. Therefore, today, according to P.Vaitiekūnas, we can be proud of our contribution to the strengthening of the united Europe and the spread of democracy in the European Union's Eastern neighborhood.
“Our brave thoughts, ideas and joint projects are necessary for the strengthening of further cooperation and preservation of the identity of our nations”, said Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs P.Vaitiekūnas.
