LITHUANIA CONGRATULATES GEORGIA ON ORGANIZING FREE ELECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH DEMOCRATIC NORMS
Lithuania congratulates a fresh Georgia’s step on the path of democracy, having organized a free and competitive election according to the main requirements for democratic election, which are set by the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Almost 150 observers from Lithuania, who monitored election in various rural and urban electoral districts of Georgia, have not recorded any instances of disturbing fraud. This fully concurs with the preliminary evaluation of the election by the OSCE.
Lithuania invites the Member States of the European Union to support Georgia’s reforms, to actively contribute to the initiatives of conflict regulation, guaranteeing Georgia’s territorial integrity and welfare of its people. The European Union has to open negotiations with Georgia on the visa facilitation agreement and to invite Georgia to conclude a free trade agreement with the European Union.
