LITHUANIA-CHINA INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION DISCUSSES CO-OPERATION IN THE FIELDS OF TOURISM, TRANSPORT AND AGRICULTURE
The 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Lithuania-China Commission for Economic and Trade Cooperation on 24 May in Beijing covered topics of tourism opportunities in Lithuania, cooperation in the transports sector and issues related to the export possibilities for agricultural products. The meeting was held on the same day as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Audronius Ažubalis started his working visit in China.
The Commission also discussed bilateral economic and trade relations, deliberated cooperation possibilities in the fields of implementing the public and private sector partnership projects and promotion of business ties.The meeting of the Intergovernmental Lithuania-China Commission was chaired by Albinas Zananavičius, Director of External Economic Relations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. The Chinese delegation was led by Zhang Di, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce.
The Intergovernmental Lithuania-China Commission for Economic and Trade Cooperation was established following the provisions of the economic and trade cooperation agreement between the governments of Lithuania and China which was signed on 30 January 1992. The Commission holds its meetings every two years.
