Lithuania Appoints Second Honorary Consul to India

Second Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania to India, Mr. Kiron Dhirajlal Shah was appointed on 7 August.  He will carry out his duties in the city of Bangalore and consular jurisdiction will encompass the southern states of Karnataka and Kerala.

Mr. K. D. Shah has founded Velankani Technology Park in Bangalore, members of which are international corporations operating in the sphere of information technologies. Many students from Lithuania had their internship at Company Velankani Information Systems Pvt. Ltd. headed by the new Honorary Consul. Seeking to promote transparent and socially responsible business, K. D. Shah has initiated the Business Integrity Initiative Fund. The Fund assesses the progress achieved by the companies operating in India and compiles the business integrity index.

Lithuania and India established diplomatic relations in 1992. The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in India was opened in New Delhi in 2008. Another Honorary Consul of Lithuania to India Om Prakash Lohia resides in Mumbai.
