On June 14 in Vilnius, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Darius Jurgelevičius and Deputy Chief of the US Mission to Lithuania William F.Davnie signed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and the Government of the United States of America on the Legal Status of the American International School of Vilnius.
Up until recently, the School has been offering primary, elementary and secondary education to children of the US citizens residing in Lithuania. After signing the Agreement, Lithuanian nationals will be granted the opportunity to study and work at the School, too. The Agreement is aimed at promoting cultural and scholarly ties between Lithuania and the US.
