LITHUANIA AND SPAIN ARE SEEKING FOR CONSTRUCTIVE COOPERATION

On 23 January, Undersecretary of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs  Žygimantas Pavilionis met with director-general of Foreign Policy of the Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ministry of Spain Rafael Dezcallar, who came to take part in the political consultations in Vilnius. During the meeting bilateral relations between Lithuania and Spain, the upcoming visit of the Spanish Royal family, the European Union–Russian relations, issues of international security and Kosovo were discussed.

Officials of Lithuanian and Spanish Ministries of Foreign Affairs  exchanged the positions of these countries regarding the European Neighbourhood policy and decided to have permanent consultations on important issues of the European Union agenda.

Undersecretary of the Ministry Ž.Pavilionis was glad that in many cases the positions of Lithuania and Spain coincided and expected constructive work in the future.

During the visit, director-general of Foreign Policy of the Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ministry of Spain R.Dezcallar also met with Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Seimas of Lithuania Justinas Karosas.
