Lithuania and Bhutan agree to strengthen bilateral cooperation

On 18 March in New Delhi, India, the Political Director, Laimonas Talat-Kelpša, met with Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Bhutan, while taking part at India's premier Raisina Dialogue conference on geopolitics.

The Political Director thanked the Bhutanese Foreign Minister for his country's continued support for and adherence to the principles of international law at international levels.

During the meeting, it was agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of science, education, technology transfer and innovation, environmental protection, and climate change, as well as tourism and cultural relations.

Talat-Kelpša invited Bhutan to participate in the annual international tourism exhibition ADVENTUR organized in Lithuania, aiming for greater mutual understanding between Lithuania and Bhutan. Possibilities for development cooperation were also discussed.

Lithuania seeks to establish diplomatic relations with Bhutan.
