Lithuania adds 74 more Georgian officials to national blacklist

Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia have expanded the list of persons banned from entering their territory.
Another 74 Georgian officials responsible for blatant and systematic violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms and repression of the Georgian people are subject to a travel ban, which prevents them from entering Lithuania.
The newly blacklisted officials include seven judges of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, as well as a large number of Georgian judges, prosecutors, and police officers, including those who testified falsely against journalist Mzia Amaglobeli and contributed to her illegal detention. Amaglobeli went on a 38-day hunger strike to protest against the misconduct of the authorities, and her life was in danger.
Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia express their strong support to the people of Georgia, who have been protesting for more than 100 days against the systemic actions of the ruling Georgian Dream party, which grossly violate the country’s Constitution, civil and political rights, and international obligations. On 28 November 2024, representatives of the Georgian Dream announced the suspension of the country’s EU integration and launched a wide-ranging crackdown on protesters, independent media, and civil society.
