Linkevičius to attend informal meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Riga
On March 6-7, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius will attend the informal meeting of EU Foreign Ministers (Gymnich) in Riga, Latvia.
The ministers will discuss the political tension in Libya, as well as the current developments in Ukraine and the EU-Russia relations with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier. The working session on Friday will review preparation for the Eastern Partnership Summit on 21-22 May in Riga. On the second day of the meeting, the Ministers will review the European Neighbourhood Policy and will exchange opinions on the review of the European Security Strategy.
A discussion with participation of foreign ministers from EU candidate countries will address developments in the EU neighbourhood.
