Linkevičius meets with the new Ambassador of Germany to Lithuania

On 2 October, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius received the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Lithuania Anglika Viets.

The meeting discussed a successful development of bilateral relations between the two countries, the results of the German elections for a new Bundestag (the federal parliament), and the further development of relations with Turkey. The officials also emphasized the importance of the presence of German troops – NATO’s enhanced forward presence – for strengthening NATO’s eastern flank.
