Linkevičius meets with Japanese business delegation
On 17 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Fukuyama Shigehiro Komaru. The Consul is the President of one of the largest logistics companies in Japan – Fukuyama Transporting. Komaru came to Lithuania accompanied by a large delegation of entrepreneurs.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister congratulated the Honorary Consul upon his assumption of his new position and wished him every success in his work.
“Shigehiro Komaru’s experience will undoubtedly have an impact on the further development of bilateral relations between Lithuania and Japan. I invite you to make use of Lithuania’s favourable geographical position and excellent transport and logistics infrastructure for the distribution of Japanese products in Europe,” said Linkevičius.
Shigehiro Komaru was appointed as Lithuania’s Honorary Consul in the Hiroshima Prefecture of Japan on 5 January 2017. Lithuania plans to open the Consulate in May 2017.
