Linkevičius congratulates newly appointed Foreign Minister of South Korea
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated South Korea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-Wha, who took office on 18 June.
In the congratulations letter, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister welcomed the strengthening political and economic cooperation between Lithuania and South Korea.
“I am pleased that the new framework of political consultation is being developed. Undoubtedly, the multilateral political consultation between Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and South Korea to be held next year, and the bilateral Lithuania-South Korea political consultation will be particularly useful for building a closer relationship between the countries, as well as for finding new opportunities for cooperation,” said Linkevičius.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister invited South Korea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs to visit Lithuania.
Prior to this appointment, Kang Kyung-Wha has served as Senior Adviser on Policy to the United Nations Secretary-General, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights.
