Landsbergis: “The exemplary cooperation of Lithuania and the Pennsylvania National Guard strengthens transatlantic security and our readiness to face threats”

On 23 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, met with the soldiers of the Pennsylvania National Guard during his visit to the United States.

“The exemplary cooperation of Lithuania and the Pennsylvania National Guard strengthens transatlantic security and our readiness to face threats,” the head of Lithuania’s diplomacy said at the meeting.

The cooperation between the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the Pennsylvania National Guard has been implemented since 1993 under a special partnership programme.

“We are grateful to the soldiers of the Pennsylvania National Guard for more than 30 years of engagement and a strong relationship based on mutual benefit and respect,” Landsbergis thanked the U.S. troops when visiting the Pennsylvania National Guard military base.

The priorities of Lithuania’s cooperation with the Pennsylvania National Guard include assistance in developing command capabilities of the Lithuanian Armed Forces division, training the Black Hawk pilots and crews, and developing resilience to cyber threats together with the Regional Cyber Defence Centre that is based in Lithuania.
