Landsbergis met with the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia: “We support Armenia’s aspirations to deepen its cooperation with the European Union”

On 12 April, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gabrielius Landsbergis, met with Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia. The meeting focused on Armenia’s ongoing democratic reforms and the security situation in Armenia and the South Caucasus region.

Landsbergis highlighted Lithuania’s support for Armenia’s goal of diversifying foreign and security policy, strengthening resilience to external threats, liberating from its binding dependence on Russia, and congratulated Armenia on the effort to normalise relations with its neighbours and deepen cooperation with the European Union.

“We welcome Armenia’s first truly courageous steps towards the EU. We are determined to help the country walk this path of genuine independence to the end,” Landsbergis said.
