On March 20, Lithuania's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gabrielius Landsbergis, met with the Polish Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

"Poland's investments into defence and determination to protect and defend themselves are impressive. "Now more than ever, Lithuania and Poland need joint planning, joint exercises and concentrated efforts - especially in the Suwalki corridor," Landsbergis said during the meeting with the Polish Deputy Prime Minister.

The interlocutors agreed that the security of the eastern flank and the entire alliance directly depended on the victory of Ukraine against the aggressor Russia. "We must do everything so that Ukraine achieves this victory as soon as possible and Washington takes a significant step towards Ukraine's  NATO membership. Ukraine is already our ally. We must formalize it," noted the head of Lithuania's diplomacy.

Landsbergis and Kosiniak-Kamysz discussed the need to cooperate in the fight against cyber and hybrid threats and to develop modern means of military response. "Instead of drawing red lines, we must create strategic dilemmas for the Kremlin regime and strengthen our resilience," Lithuania's Foreign Minister said.

Lithuania and Poland enjoy a strategic partnership in security and defence, close economic ties and extensive cooperation in education, science and culture.
