Landsbergis in Finland: “We have to understand that real problems are there and come up with real solutions”
On 13 June in Helsinki, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, participated in the Kultaranta Talks 2024: “Resetting Europe in the Evolving World Order” at the invitation of the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb. According to Landsbergis, if we wish central parties and attitudes in Europe to hold, we have to understand that real problems are there and come up with real solutions.
“We see that the fringes are strengthening in some countries, and the centre is not holding. It was clear that Europeans had real problems and wanted real solutions. In some cases, they do not believe the centre can provide those answers. We cannot adopt the talking points of the far right on migration,” Landsbergis said when commenting on the elections for the European Parliament.
About a hundred influential participants from various sectors of society, including national and international policymakers, researchers, representatives of public administration, trade and industry, civil society organisations, and the media, are invited to attend the event. This year, the theme is the future of Europe. Landsbergis addressed the panel on internal European dynamics.
