Landsbergis in Brussels: “We need a new winning strategy for Ukraine coming from strength and ability to mobilize, not fear of escalation”
Today, on 18 November, Gabrielius Landsbergis, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, attends the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union in Brussels.
Ahead of the meeting, the head of Lithuania’s diplomacy told journalists:
“We need a new winning strategy for Ukraine that would come from strength and ability to mobilize. Peace through de-escalation is a failing and failed strategy. It is fair to say that the strategy of the way that we help Ukraine during the three years, almost a thousand days, has failed.”
“We do not consider the elections that have taken place in Georgia to be free and fair. Lithuania has called for an independent international investigation to actually have clear answers as to whether Georgia is still on a European path. And for that, we need an investigation. Europe also has to ask itself if it isolates itself. Why are we not able to find a solution for Georgia? Maybe Europe has also started looking inwards?”
