L.Linkevičius to take part in debates of the session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva

On 4 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius is paying an abbreviated working visit to Geneva, where will take part in high-level debates of the 25th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, and will hold a meeting with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay.

L.Linkevičius intends to address the UN Human Rights Council condemning the aggression against Ukraine and to voice full support for that country. In addition, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister will continue to urge to stop violence in conflict-affected countries - Syria and the Central African Republic.

The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the President of the UN General Assembly, the President of the Human Rights Council, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the President of Switzerland, the Foreign Ministers from more than 30 various countries, and other high-level representatives will also give speeches at the 25th session of the UN Human Rights Council.
