L. Linkevičius bids farewell to the outgoing Kyrgyz Ambassador

On 25 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius received the outgoing Kyrgyz Ambassador to Lithuania Kubanychbek Omuraliev. The meeting discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in the light of the new cooperation agreement between the European Union and the Kyrgyz Republic that was under negotiation.

The Foreign Minister L. Linkevičius invited Kyrgyzstan to take over Lithuania’s experience in the field of the implementation of standards and certification, to make use of IT products and services provided by Lithuanian companies that could be successfully applied and benefit Kyrgyzstan's public sector and businesses.

The Minister L. Linkevičius thanked the Ambassador for his personal contribution to the development of the relationship between Lithuania and Kyrgyzstan, and expressed his gratitude for all the support in addressing the issue of legitimizing the Lithuanian naming of Kyrgyz mountain peaks, as well as wished him every success in his future diplomatic career.

Lithuania and Kyrgyzstan established their diplomatic relations on 3 July 1992. Kyrgyzstan's Embassy in Minsk, Belarus, is accredited to Lithuania.
