KAUNAS WAS PRESENTED AT THE TRAVEL SHOW EXPO IN LOS ANGELES
Kaunas was presented at the largest tourism event on the U.S. West Coast, this idea was born during the visit of Lithuanian Ambassador to the U.S.A. Žygimantas Pavilionis to Los Angeles and was given flesh and blood on 19-20 March.Lithuania’s second largest city Kaunas was presented at the exhibition by Lithuanian Honorary Consul in the U.S. state of California Daiva Valeria Čekanauskas-Navarrette.
This year, the Travel Show attracted more than 500 tour operators and 20 thousand visitors.Los Angeles City Councilmember, Chairman of the Los Angeles-Kaunas Sister Cities Committee Tom LaBonge invited Lithuania to present Kaunas at the Travel Show Expo.
The U.S. outbound tourism market is one of the fastest-growing outbound travel markets in the world. According to the World Tourism Organization, an American tourist is statistically second world’s most spending tourist.
The topic of the U.S. tourist attraction to Lithuania was discussed on 5 March at the meeting of Lithuanian honorary consuls in the U.S.A. During the meeting, honorary consuls submitted proposals regarding Lithuania’s tourism strategy in the United States.
