KALININGRAD REGION ADMINISTRATION APPRECIATED THE PERFORMANCE OF THE FACILITATED TRANSIT PROGRAM

On 16 January the Administration of the Kaliningrad region expressed gratitude to Lithuanian Border Guard Service and services issuing facilitated transit documents as well as to the Head of Lithuanian Government for help and cooperation during winter holidays.
Trips to different cities of the Russian Federation organized for pupils from the Kaliningrad region during winter holidays passed smoothly. In total 2772 pupils and accompanying persons left from the Kaliningrad region to the Russian Federation and returned during the holidays.
The EU and the Russian Federation agreed on the order of transit of persons and goods to the Kaliningrad Region through the territory of Lithuania on 11 November, 2002.
