ISSUES OF LITHUANIAN-UKRAINIAN BILATERAL AND REGIONAL COOPERATION WERE DISCUSSED IN VILNIUS
On 31 October in Vilnius Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Boris Tarasyuk and discussed important issues of Lithuanian-Ukrainian bilateral relations, internal political situation in Ukraine and reforms that are under way in the country.
The Ministers exchanged opinions on the results of the EU-Ukraine Summit that took place on 27 October in Helsinki, discussed energy and regional cooperation issues, NATO-Ukraine relations.
Lithuanian-Ukrainian Foreign Ministers also talked about preparations for the state visit of Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus to Ukraine that is planned for 14-16 November.
The meeting of the Ministers took place in Vilnius International Airport, on Ukrainian Foreign Minister’s way to Kiev from his visit to Tallinn.
