IN VILNIUS, LITHUANIAN FOREIGN VICE-MINISTER AND MOLDOVA’S DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER DISCUSS PREPARATIONS FOR THE EASTERN PARTNERSHIP SUMMIT
At the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Iulian Groza on 2 July in Vilnius, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas discussed preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit in Lithuania and reviewed key items on Moldova’s European agenda. Krivas congratulated Moldova on the completion of the Association Agreement negotiations with the European Union. It is now expected to be initialled at the Vilnius Summit. The Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister also called on Moldova to continue its efforts to implement the Action Plan on Visa Liberalisation and to successfully complete this process by the Summit in November.
The Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister and the Moldovan Deputy Minister also discussed side events of the Summit. One of them will be the meeting of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum in Chisinau.
Groza presented Moldova’s foreign policy priorities during the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the EU. The Vice-Minister Krivas noted that Lithuania’s aim to strengthen the Eastern Partnership was harmoniously complemented by these priorities.
