On January 5, the delegation for the EU accession negotiations, directed by Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis, discussed future works.
"Possibly this half year will be decisive in the process of EU membership negotiations, therefore we should exert every effort to achieve
progress in the negotiations and to finish negotiations next year," Valionis said.
Lithuania's Chief EU membership negotiator Petras Austrevicius introduced Euro-negotiations plans for the first half of this year. Austrevicius
underlined necessity to proceed with domestic reforms and induce cooperation of all Lithuanian institutions with the partners of EU.
"It is necessary to emphasize, that real negotiations start. So good results could be reached only with wide political support and cooperation of
all Lithuanian institutions," Austrevicius said.
