In Tallinn, Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister discusses EU issues, status of small states in international system
On 14-15 April, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Raimundas Karoblis visited Tallinn, where he discussed items on the EU agenda, including energy and nuclear safety issues, with Estonian officials. Karoblis also participated in an open seminar ‘Small States: Advancing International Status through Smart Governance’.
Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister met with the Estonian Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General Rainer Saks, the Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister Rein Tammsaar, the Director for European Union Affairs of the Government Office Klen Jäärats and the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of the Environment Ado Lõhmus.
During the open seminar, Karoblis acquainted its participants with Lithuania’s experience of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2013 and outcomes of its non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council for the 2014-2015 term.
