In Strasbourg, Gabrielius Landsbergis to address the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, meet with representatives of international organisations

On 25 June in Strasbourg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, who presides over the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, will speak at the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and answer questions from members of the Assembly.

During its presidency of the Committee of Ministers, Lithuania seeks to strengthen the organisation's actions in addressing the issues of support to Ukraine and ensuring the accountability of Russia and its accomplices. The Foreign Minister will also discuss the implementation of these and other priorities and the activities of the Committee of Ministers in meetings with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinovič Burič, the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Theodoros Rousopoulos, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz and the President of the European Court of Human Rights Siofra O'Leary.

Lithuania took over the Presidency of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers on 17 May this year. The Council of Europe now has 46 member states. It is one of the few international organisations that expelled the aggressor after Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
