In New York City, Foreign Vice-Minister presents Lithuania’s initiatives to strengthen ties between Lithuanians and Jews

At the meeting with representatives of Jewish organizations on 4 May in New York City, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Mantvydas Bekešius presented Lithuania’s initiatives related to educating people about the joint history of Lithuanian and Jewish nations, their cultural experience and the Holocaust.

Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister met with representatives of World Jewish Congress, American Jewish Committee, B’nai B’rith International and World Jewish Restitution Organization.

The representatives of the Jewish organizations thanked Lithuania for maintaining a good relationship with Israel, Lithuania’s position on the issue of the Middle East and took interest in the situation in Eastern Europe and Ukraine.
