IN MINSK, POLITICAL DIRECTOR OF LITHUANIA’S MFA TOOK PART IN THE DISCUSSION ON IMPORTANT SECURITY POLICY ISSUES
On 26 March in Minsk, Political Director of Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eitvydas Bajarūnas took part in the round table discussion ‘The Security of Belarus in the Context of Global and Regional Challenges’.
The discussion was organized by Belarusian non-governmental organization ‘Strategy’ and the Lithuanian Embassy in Minsk, which acts as NATO’s Contact Point Embassy in Belarus.
At the event, E.Bajarūnas presented Lithuania’s approach to the preparation of NATO’s new Strategic Concept and participated in the discussion on important security policy issues.
In Minsk, the Political Director of Lithuania’s MFA also met with Director of the European Directorate of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus Alexei Skripko.
During the meeting, Lithuania’s Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in 2011, cooperation between Lithuania and Belarus within the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership Initiative’s projects, important issues of the EU-Belarus relations, issues of the organization of a trilateral meeting of Lithuanian, Belarusian and Ukrainian foreign ministers, and other issues were discussed.
