IN LITHUANIA GEORGIAN STUDENTS LEARNED TO BECOME LEADERS
2–12 July, thirteen students from Georgia took part in the project “Strengthening of Economic and Democratic Potential in Guria Region of Georgia”, financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lithuania. Teenagers from Georgia attended special “Youth Leadership School”, where they had an opportunity to get acquainted with young and senior leaders in various areas in Lithuania, learn more about leadership and how to acquire all the necessary skills.
The experience of leadership was conveyed to Georgian students by a village community, politicians, business leaders, peer students, scouts, the young politicians and naturalists.
Regional Ethics and Leadership Institute prepared a visit program which gave an opportunity for the representatives of Georgian youth to establish relations with Panevėžys district and Anykščiai region schools, as well as to delineate guidelines for further cooperation.
This project promotes activeness, responsibility and zeal of Georgian youth in order to bring up strong future leaders, who could contribute considerably to the economical and cultural development of the region and strengthening of democracy potentially applying the knowledge and experience gained in Lithuania.
