On 16-17 February, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Mantas Adomėnas is participating in political consultations on essential items on the international agenda and issues of bilateral cooperation with representatives of Ukraine.

On 16 February, Lithuania's Foreign Vice-Minister met with Deputy Heads of the President's Office of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha and Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Ministers for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis and Mykola Tochytskyi to discuss Lithuania's support for Ukraine in the fight against Russia's aggression. Adomėnas emphasized that "the people of Ukraine today defend not only their country and its independence but also our security and the values of freedom and democracy that unite us."

"Lithuania, together with the international community, is doing its utmost to minimize Russia's ability to continue its war against Ukraine," Adomėnas said, noting the importance of further tightening sanctions and the international political isolation of Russia. Lithuania's Foreign Vice-Minister also stressed that Lithuania strongly supported Ukraine's efforts to ensure justice and hold Russian individuals responsible for the crimes of aggression and other violations to account.

The interlocutors also discussed Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration efforts, which Lithuania strongly supported and provided political and practical expert assistance. "Ukraine belongs in Europe," said Adomėnas, noting Ukraine's progress in implementing necessary reforms, despite Russia's ongoing aggression. These reforms are crucial as Ukraine takes further steps along the path of European integration.

Today, Lithuania's Foreign Vice-Minister and representatives of Ukraine visited Borodianka in the Kyiv region, where Lithuania finances the reconstruction of a school and the construction of a camp of modular buildings, and Irpin, where Lithuania funds the rebuilding of a  kindergarten. Adomėnas stressed, "The reconstruction of Ukraine cannot wait until the war's end. It must begin now."
