IN CHISINAU, LITHUANIAN FOREIGN VICE-MINISTER ASSURED THAT LITHUANIA WOULD CONTINUE TO SUPPORT MOLDOVA ON THE PATH TO EUROPEAN INTEGRATION
On 30-31 March at the EU – Moldova Economic Forum’s panel discussion “Moldova within the Eastern Partnership. Setting up a Model for Reforms” in Chisinau, Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Evaldas Ignatavičius encouraged Moldova to step bravely forward to continue the path of reforms in accordance with the EU standards.
The Vice-Minister assured Lithuania’s further support to Moldova and that the country would share the experience in the areas of legal reform, customs, health, standardization, etc.During the meetings with Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Moldovan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Natalia Gherman and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Corman, Vice-Minister E.Ignatavičius discussed Moldova’s progress on the path to European integration, bilateral relations and planned visits of Moldova’s high-ranking officials to Lithuania.
The participants of the meetings positively evaluated Lithuania’s support and noted that Lithuania’s European integration experience was very important for reforms in Moldova.
The Vice-Minister also held meetings with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel, Head of the Coordination Office for Technical Cooperation of the Austrian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova Michael Schieder and Lithuanian Honorary Consul in Moldova Artur Filat.
The EU – Moldova Economic Forum in Chisinau was organized by the Foreign Policy Association of Moldova in cooperation with the Polish Institute for Eastern Studies.
The forum was attended by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of Moldova V.Filat, former Polish President Aleksander Kwaśniewski, former President of Romania Emil Constantinescu, other high-ranking officials and experts from the EU, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.
