IN BRUSSELS, NATO FOREIGN MINISTERIAL DISCUSSES COOPERATION WITH RUSSIA AND GEORGIA

On 3-4 December in Brussels, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas is attended the NATO Foreign Ministerial in Brussels. On the second day of the event, the Foreign Ministers discussed cooperation with Russia, contributors to NATO’s mission in Afghanistan, and Georgia. During a session of the NATO-Russia Council, the Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister supported the decision to launch a joint trust fund project to dispose of obsolete and dangerous ammunition in the Kaliningrad region.

At a meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission, the countries of the Alliance praised Georgia’s democratic parliamentary elections and assured of their support for the country’s integration into the Euro-Atlantic family, which should be based on Georgia’s ambitious reform agenda. The meeting was also attended by the Georgian Foreign MinisterMaia Panjikidze.
