HISTORICAL NOVEL “LOOK FOR MOSCOW SPHINX” PRESENTED AT THE FOREIGN MINISTRY
On 24 October a historical novel by Alfonsas Eidintas “Look for Moscow Sphinx” was presented at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Presenting the book Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas noted that the diplomacy made one more important step from professional activities and everyday work, from diplomatic documents and the history of diplomacy towards the wider society.
“I am glad that there are diplomats who reflect their unique experience in a really beautiful fiction,” Minister Vaitiekūnas said.
Speaking about his historical novel Mr Eidintas marked that the aim of the book was to popularize the historical knowledge. According to him, it is important not to forget historical facts.
“Look for Moscow Sphinx” is a historical novel by historian, ambassador and writer Alfonsas Eidintas telling about 1939-1940 the years that were fateful for Lithuania. The author creates his vision of the events, based on history books, contemporary recollections, documents and archives.
