HEADS OF DIPLOMACY OF NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES CONGRATULATE THE NEW LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER
On 10 December, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Maris Riekstins called new Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas to congratulate him on the beginning of his tenure.
Latvian Foreign Minister invited the head of Lithuanian diplomacy to pay an official visit to Latvia. It was agreed that Lithuanian and Latvian Foreign Ministries will agree on the date of the visit in the nearest future.
During the conversation, Ministers also discussed means of combating economic crisis, which Lithuanian and Latvian governments intend to take, and important issues of bilateral relations.
On 9 December during the meeting between Lithuanian Prime Minister-designate and the President of Ukraine, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Volodymyr Ogryzko also congratulated Minister-designate V.Ušackas and invited him to pay an official visit to Ukraine.
