Georgia’s judicial reform discussed at Lithuanian Foreign Ministry
On 17 September in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Minister of Justice of Georgia Thea Tsulukiani to discuss the implementation of Georgia’s ongoing judicial reform that will bring the country closer to the establishment of a visa free regime with the European Union.
“At the moment, Georgia’s priority is to be given a positive assessment by the European Commission on the visa-free regime with the EU. We very much look forward to Georgia’s receiving this assessment at the end of the year,” said Linkevičius.
During the meeting, the Minister of Justice of Georgia presented the ongoing reforms that were being implemented by the Ministry of Justice, aiming to make Georgia’s public sector and its judicial system fully transparent and free of political influence. International organizations have also welcomed Georgia’s progress.
