GEORGIA’S EURO-ATLANTIC INTEGRATION OBJECTIVES WERE DISCUSSED IN VILNIUS
On 13 June Acting Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis met with Georgian Minister of Defenсe Irakli Okruashvili who is on a visit to Vilnius and discussed bilateral cooperation and Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration objectives.
Minister Valionis emphasised that Lithuania supports Georgia’s objectives of integration into NATO and the European Union and efforts to settle peacefully the “frozen” conflicts. Lithuanian Foreign Minister also welcomed Georgia’s goal to start “Intensive dialogue” with the Alliance this year.
The ministers also discussed reforms that are being implemented in Georgia, topicalities of energy policy and cooperation with neighbour states.
