GEORGIA-NATO COOPERATION WAS DISCUSSED AT THE DELEGATION OF LITHUANIA

On 6 May at the Permanent Delegation of Lithuania to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Lithuania’s Ambassador to NATO Linas Linkevičius received Georgia's Deputy National Security Advisor Giorgi Phorhkidze, Deputy Defence Minister Nodar Kharshiladze and Deputy State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Helen Khoshtaria.

During the meeting in Brussels, important issues of Georgia-NATO cooperation, the implementation of Georgia’s Annual National Programme and the ongoing reforms in the country were discussed.

Georgian representatives presented the review of Georgia’s national security policy, which they came to discuss in more detail with the allies in the NATO-Georgia commission.

The upcoming local elections in Georgia and efforts to ensure a transparent electoral process were also discussed.

Georgia’s representatives thanked Lithuania for the country’s support.
