Gabrielius Landsbergis meets with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell in Washington

In Washington, D.C., the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, met with the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Kurt Campbell.

“Despite unprecedented political  and economic pressures over the last 3 years, Lithuania has not stepped back in developing relations with the Indo-Pacific region. This is a success story that, I believe, will be continued,” said Landsbergis

Both sides agreed that further development of the dialogue between Lithuania and the United States on Indo-Pacific issues was very important.

At the meeting, the politicians discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Lithuania and the United States, emphasizing the importance of transatlantic cooperation. They also welcomed growing economic ties and addressed regional security threats, including the need to continue and increase support for Ukraine.

Landsbergis stressed the need to continue military assistance for Ukraine, seek Russia’s accountability for war crimes, and shape a response to Russia’s aggressive actions against the allies. Lithuania’s Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of the U.S. military presence in Lithuania and its security commitments to Europe.
