FUTURE HEADS OF THE DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA ARE STIMULATED TO EXPAND TRADE AND ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY

Looking for the new ways to develop relations between the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Lithuania and Lithuanian business structures as well as seeking to expand trade and economic diplomacy to the various world's regions and countries, on September 26 - October 2 special events were held for the heads of diplomatic missions of the Republic of Lithuania, who are being posted to diplomatic missions. Lithuanian Foreign Ministry's Department of Economics together with Regional Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts has taken the initiative to organize a first of that kind event for the newly appointed Lithuanian ambassadors. On September 27 in the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry future heads of the Lithuanian diplomatic missions in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Greece, Israel, China, St Petersburg and Ukraine participated in the "round table" discussion with the high representatives of the Lithuanian ministries and associated business structures. Lithuanian ambassadors also visited the Lithuanian Development Agency and got a deeper insight into its activities. The heads of these diplomatic missions went to Kaunas, Klaipėda and Panevėžys, where they met mayors of the districts as well as local representatives of business and administration. They have also visited the biggest enterprises of these regions and Klaipėda State Seaport. Lithuanian Foreign Ministry is planning to keep organizing similar programs for the newly appointed heads of the Lithuanian diplomatic missions.
