FOREIGN VICE-MINISTER MET WITH UNDP REPRESENTATIVE
On 16 October in Vilnius, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Šarūnas Adomavičius met with Deputy Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS Cihan Sultanoglu.
The interlocutors discussed the activities of the United Nations Development Programme in Lithuania and cooperation with Lithuanian institutions, implementation of projects aimed at increasing social inclusion, social accountability of enterprises, children’s rights and teenagers’ justice, reduction of corruption, environment protection and other areas.
Vice-Minister Š.Adomavičius expressed gratitude for the long-term activities of the UNDP bureau in Lithuania and noted that Lithuania was interested in cooperation with UNDP bureau when implementing Eastern Partnership projects and raising funds for the development cooperation projects in Afghanistan.
The UN Development Programme started its activities in Lithuania in 1993.
