FOREIGN VICE-MINISTER MET WITH TUNISIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY STATE SECRETARY
On 25 January, Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Zenonas Petrauskas met with Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs State Secretary Mohamed Hatem Ben Salem who arrived on a working visit to the Baltic States.
During the meeting Tunisian official underlined the necessity to develop bilateral economical relations between Lithuania and Tunisia, encourage businessmen delegations visits and increase legal base of bilateral cooperation, signing bipartite agreements.In the European Union context the guest underlined Tunisia’s expectation for active Lithuania’s as a new EU member’s participation in development of cooperation between the EU and Mediterranean states in so called Barcelona Process, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.
Tunisian Foreign Ministry State Secretary during his visit in Lithuania also met with Foreign Affairs Committee Deputy Chairman Audronis Ažubalis in the Seimas.
Tunisia is one of the most active participants of the EU and Southern Mediterranean region states dialogue. In 1995 Tunisia signed Association Agreement with the EU, European integration process is one of its foreign policy priorities.
