Foreign Vice-Minister Grigaitė-Daugirdė meets the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, underlines the need for respect for the principles of international law, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence
On 13 March, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabija Grigaitė-Daugirdė, met with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lithuania Timur Urazayev.
At the meeting they discussed bilateral political and economic cooperation, as well as collaboration in international organisations and other multilateral fora, talked about the current geopolitical situation and societal resilience in response to international events of great concern.
“In the context of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, we must defend international law and the principles of international relations enshrined therein. Therefore, we call on Kazakhstan to back the United Nations resolutions supporting Ukraine, and to jointly seek Russia’s accountability for international crimes committed in Ukraine,” said the Foreign Vice-Minister.
Grigaitė-Daugirdė thanked Kazakhstan for its efforts in implementing Western sanctions against Russia, emphasizing that sanctions had effectively weakened Russia's defense industry.
