On 12 February, Undersecretary of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Darius Jurgelevičius, currently on visit to Kyiv, met with Georgian Foreign Minister Tedo Japaridze, visiting the Ukrainian capital.
The meeting was also attended by Lithuania’s Ambassador in Ukraine Viktoras Baublys and Georgia’s Ambassador in Ukraine Grigol Katamadze.
During the conversation, the officials discussed the topical issues of the Lithuanian-Georgian cooperation and future visits. Tedo Japaridze was handed the invitation of Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis to visit Vilnius at the nearest convenient time.
The Georgian Foreign Minister also informed on the results of the Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili’s visit to Russia, which took place earlier this week.
On 13 February, Darius Jurgelevičius will participate in the bilateral negotiations over the Lithuanian-Ukrainian Treaty concerning the citizens’ travels.
During the visit, Darius Jurgelevičius will also meet with Deputy Head of the Ukrainian President’s Administration Anatolii Orel and Head of the Strategic Initiatives’ Board of the President’s Administration Georgii Pocheptsov.
