On 19 April in Vilnius, Undersecretary of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Šarūnas Adomavičius and the delegation of the Committee for Defence and Security of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament, led by its Chairman Jan Vidim, discussed the bilateral relations after the Czech Republic and Lithuania became NATO allies.
At the meeting, the officials exchanged opinions on the trans-Atlantic relations, issues of the international security as well as topicalities and prospects of the bilateral cooperation.
”While preparing to the membership in NATO we constantly felt a sincere support of our Czech friends,” - Šarūnas Adomavičius said after the meeting.
In 2000–2002, the Czech embassy in Vilnius was a NATO contact point embassy in Lithuania.
