Foreign Ministry's Political Director, Talat-Kelpša, met with His Eminence, Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon

On 25 July, Laimonas Talat-Kelpša, Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with Emanuel, Metropolitan Archbishop of Chalcedon, whose position under the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople is equivalent to that of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Political Director and the Metropolitan discussed the situation of the Exarchate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, current issues of financing, construction of a house of worship, and future plans.
The Exarchate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Lithuania was reestablished in 2023.
Metropolitan Emmanuel is visiting Lithuania for the seventh time.
