FOREIGN MINISTRY UNDERSECRETARY WITH CHILEAN OFFICIALS TO DISCUSS BILATERAL RELATIONS
On 28 April Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Šarūnas Adomavičius who takes part in ministerial meeting of the coalition of democratic countries Community of Democracies in the capital of Chile Santiago discussed with Chilean officials topicalities of bilateral relations and perspectives of its development.
Lithuanian MFA Undersecretary met with the Chairman of Chilean Senate Sergio Romero Pizarro, the head of European department Jose Luis Balmaceda and the head of International economic relations department Carlos Furche Gajardo of Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the conversations some aspects of Lithuanian-Chilean cooperation in multilateral context, enhancement of human contacts, organization of visits and initiation of interparliamentary cooperation were discussed.
An invitation to visit Lithuania and a project of Lithuanian-Chilean agreement on investment promotion and protection were handed to the President of Chile Ricardo Lagos.
During the meeting of Šarūnas Adomavičius with Chilean business representatives possibilities of bilateral business relations development and exchanging business missions were considered.
During his stay in Chile Šarūnas Adomavičius paid a visit to the house of a famous Lithuanian scientist, geologist Ignas Domeika, who had lived and worked in this country.
