FOREIGN MINISTRY UNDERSECRETARY AND THE CHIEF OF THE HELLENIC NATIONAL DEFENCE GENERAL STAFF DISCUSSED IMPORTANT SECURITY POLICY ISSUES
On 27 June Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Audrius Navikas met with the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff Admiral Panagiotis Chinofotis who is on official visit to Lithuania and discussed bilateral Lithuanian-Greek security policy issues and preparations for the November NATO Summit in Riga.
The participants of the meeting also addressed the issues of Air Policing, Lithuania’s and Greece’s participation in international operations and missions, exchanged opinions on the prospects of European Security and Defence Policy and cooperation between the European Union and NATO.
Greek Ambassador to Lithuania George Christofis, Chief of Defence Staff Brigadier General Vitalijus Vaišnoras, officials from Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Defence also took part in the meeting.
