FOREIGN MINISTRY ISSUES A CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION AND DEMOCRACY PROMOTION PROJECTS

Lithuanian Foreign Ministry invites to submit proposals for development cooperation and democracy promotion projects.

The projects should contribute to the development of democracy, security and stability in the partner countries and to the strengthening of political, cultural, economic and social relations between Lithuania and partner countries.  They should also contribute to implementation of Millennium Development Goals – reduction of poverty in the world, provision of universal primary education, promotion of gender equality, reduction of child mortality, halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and other deceases, ensuring sustainable economic and environmental development, promotion of global partnership for development.

Lithuania has accumulated experience of building of the constitutional state. Taking in consideration national foreign policy priorities and striving to be active state of the region Lithuania cooperates with the states of Eastern Europe, the Southern Caucasus, countries recovering from conflicts and other least developed countries. In these states Lithuania contributes to democracy promotion, human rights, good governance and the rule of law, economic development, European integration, strengthening of administrative capacities.
