Foreign Ministers of Lithuania and Liechtenstein sign a treaty for the avoidance of double taxation

On 15 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Liechtenstein Aurelia Frick signed a treaty for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion in Munich.

The agreement will ensure legal certainty, will help to avoid companies and residents from being taxed twice on the same income, and will facilitate closer cooperation between tax administrations in both countries.

Lithuania and Liechtenstein established their diplomatic relations in 2001. The two countries cooperate within the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and the World Trade Organization.

The EEA Grants and Norway Grants represent the contribution by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to reducing economic and social disparities and to strengthening bilateral relations with 15 EU countries. Lithuania received EUR 117.6 million for the implementation of various projects in the country during the new 2014-2021 period.
